Mountain City Club

Originally chartered in 1889, the Mountain City Club is one of the oldest clubs of its kind in the nation.  The club was first located in a Samuel Patton designed building at the southeast corner of Seventh and Cherry Street before moving to a space in the old First National Bank building on Broad Street, currently the home of Capital Mark Bank & trust.  In 1904, the club moved into a second permanent clubhouse on Chestnut Street, where it would remain until its current location was constructed seven decades later.

Since its inception, the club as hosted countless celebrities and politicians, and its membership has been filled with business and community leaders who have been instrumental in charting the course of the city.  The club has seen a lot of history; from Prohibition and the Great Depression, to the world wars and other major global events.  The Mountain City Club has embraced considerable social and technological change.

Today, the club serves as the perfect backdrop for longtime and new members alike to both celebrate Chattanooga's legacy and look forward to its future.
